For 19 years this family lived with the original builder’s kitchen. They wanted to update fixtures and the cabinets to increase their size. In addition, they also wanted to open the kitchen floor plan by incorporating the breakfast area into a hutch and archway to match the cabinets and backsplash.
The kitchen modeling project consisted of removing all cabinets, plumbing fixtures, backsplash & electrical lighting. Then the Sullivan Construction team added wiring for extra recessed can lighting, under cabinet lighting and 3 extra light fixtures as well as Lutron dimmer switches. The owners had the cabinets custom designed and built-in by our cabinet maker made from Knotty Alder solid wood and custom stained by a local Magnolia painter.
Each cabinet was fitted with all new granite counter tops and added a Travertine Brick pattern backsplash. We put in a stainless steel farm sink and faucet. The panty was finished with a custom Knotty Alder barn door stained to match the cabinets and finish tying the kitchen together. To increase natural light the window over the sink was replaced.
When completed this kitchen remodel in Magnolia left the room feeling bigger, updated, and provided more functional space for the family.
